The Approval Process

Training must be completed in Children’s University before access to iConnect is granted. A Request for Access (RFA) form is available for submission when training modules are complete.

Request for Access Form

A link to the RFA is provided upon completion of the iConnect Prescriber core curriculum. CoA Medical Staff services will verify your information after the form is submitted. Your information will then be added to the CoA computer systems and provided to the security department for badge access.
This process takes 2-7 business days to complete. You will be notified when your system access packet is ready for pickup. Information Needed to Complete The RFA Form:

  • Program Coordinator’s name, address, and phone number
  • Full residency dates, i.e., 07/01/2018 – 06/30/2019 (if resident)
  • Medical Students: Clerkship dates required
  • NPI (residents only)

Getting Started

This means that you already have a Children’s University account. Call 205-638-7913 or email isthelp@childrensal.org to obtain your login information.
The registration approval and learning assignment process can take up to 48 hours. Call/email the Instructional Systems department if in doubt, or if the 48 business hours have elapsed.
After 01/01/19, the RFA link is only accessible via the new prescriber core curriculum. You should call or email the Instructional Systems department to be assigned the new curriculum.
The whole request for access process from training to RFA form submission usually takes 2-7 days. You can request your program coordinator to reach out to MSS or IT provisioning to confirm receipt of the form if in doubt, or if outside of the stated timeframe.
Program coordinators can provide the request for access process information to residents as early as needed to begin the process. Note: Upon registration approval, they will have 60 days to complete the training.
If you had completed iConnect prescriber core training before, and had the access within the last 6 months, you will not need to go through the training again. You will however need your access to Children’s University made active again so you can re-submit the RFA form. Send an email to isthelp@childrensal.org. If you had not completed iConnect prescriber core training, you will be required to complete the training. It’s all about patient safety! Training content is refreshed on a regular basis.
All training is assigned based on the users’ role. However, you only need to complete the prescriber core curriculum to start the request for access process.
